Taking a Stand

I took a stand against girls being denied access to education three years ago.  This specific issue really pulled on my heart when I heard about how unfair women and girls were treated here in America and all across the world. According to statistics, when women have jobs and create an income for their family they put more of that money into supporting the household than men.  Education is where it all starts, it helps women not to fall into a constant cycle of poverty, hunger, and prostitution.  I joined a club called Girls Learn International in 2009, in 2010 I became the leader of the club only as a sophmore and will lead it through 2013.  I truly feel like the money we raise for our partner school in Pakistan is making a difference in their lives.  It helps them continue their education and persue their dreams.
